How to convert JSON to CSV

This converter works with a JSON array of objects — the most common format for tabular data. Each object becomes a row; the keys of the first object become the column headers.

Input JSON: [ {"name": "Alice", "age": 30, "city": "Auckland"}, {"name": "Bob", "age": 25, "city": "Wellington"}, {"name": "Carol", "age": 35, "city": "Christchurch"} ] Output CSV: name,age,city Alice,30,Auckland Bob,25,Wellington Carol,35,Christchurch

Paste your JSON into the input box and choose To CSV. Nested objects become dotted column names (for example address.city), arrays are kept as JSON text in a single cell, and every key that appears in any row becomes a column. Download the result as a .csv file that opens in Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers.

Quick method: For small JSON arrays, paste directly into Google Sheets using Data → Import, or use Excel's Power Query (Get Data → From JSON). Both handle JSON arrays natively without needing a separate converter.

Frequently asked questions

A flat array of objects where each object has the same keys. Each object = one row. The keys of the first object = column headers. Nested objects and arrays within the data need to be flattened first.
In most spreadsheet apps: File → Save As → JSON (not always available). Alternatively, paste CSV into a free online CSV to JSON tool. In JavaScript: parse the CSV manually or use a library like Papa Parse.
