Discount Calculator
Find the sale price and savings after a percentage discount.
How to calculate a discount
Sale price = Original price × (1 − discount% ÷ 100)
Savings = Original price × (discount% ÷ 100)
Example: $120 jacket, 30% off → Sale price = 120 × 0.70 = $84. Savings = 120 × 0.30 = $36.
Common discount table

Frequently asked questions
Multiply the price by 0.80 (which equals 1 − 0.20). For example, 20% off $150 = 150 × 0.80 = $120. Or use the calculator above: enter 150 − 20%.
Divide the sale price by (1 − discount/100). If an item is $85 after a 15% discount: 85 ÷ 0.85 = $100 original price.
